Use of Conventions

My product uses convention such as my actress running across the screen which like the scene in the beginning of The Silence of the Lambs. Although, I did not write about in a blog post. It was one of the films that I researched. This was to create suspense of who the person is running and why they are running.

Another use of convention would be the silence in the beginning. This creates suspense and would help establish the mood. The films that I researched, there was no talking in the beginning. The films that had the actors and actresses on screen in the opening had them going about their day or perform mundane everyday activities. I used that when I had two of the actresses playing cards to show there was nothing to worry about.

The social groups that are presented in the film I created was that there are high school students minding their own business when one of them is in need of help. This student is a band student, so there instrument would be invaluable to them. This creates suspense because where could have the student lost it and will they be able to find it.

The last social group would be that of the thief and kidnapper. The thief is another student which shows the audience that there are dangerous people all around and would not be able to suspect it. It shows that people should not let their guard down even in a safe setting.

Also, the setting creates a feeling of suspense. This is due to schools supposedly being one of the safest places to be. This crime would cause unease to not only the two other actresses attending the school but to the setting in general. This would cause unrest and create a suspenseful atmosphere after the band student gets kidnapped.
